Are you willing to do what it takes to go the distance?
We all say we want results…. to lose weight, to feel more confident and comfortable in our clothes, to have more energy, and to finally stop obsessing about food. But there’s a big difference between wanting something and being willing to do what it takes to get it.
Imagine you’re planning a trip from New York to California. You’ve mapped out your destination …the sunny coast, the ocean breeze, and the sand between your toes. But when it’s time to go, you only pack enough gas money and food and only have enough time to make it to Arizona. You might get creative and look for shortcuts, different routes, or faster transportation, but at the end of the day, if you’re only willing to go as far as Arizona, you’ll never see California.
The same is true when it comes to your health goals.
You might be saying, “I want to lose weight,” but only be willing to make small, short-term changes that you know you won’t be able to sustain long term, like doing keto for a few weeks or telling yourself you’re giving up ice cream or chips or your favorite food. Those efforts might get you to Arizona, but California…the lasting freedom with food, peace in your body, and confidence in how you feel and look, requires something deeper: commitment, consistency, and a willingness to keep going when it’s uncomfortable.
That doesn’t mean perfection. It means being honest with yourself about what it will take, and choosing to align your actions with your goals, even when your motivation fades or progress feels slow.
If you’re feeling stuck somewhere between where you are and where you want to be, it’s time to ask yourself: Am I trying to reach California with an Arizona mindset?
Real change happens when you’re willing to go the distance.
